Building the Foundation for Sri Lanka's Impact Investment Ecosystem
The inaugural Lanka Impact Investment Summit 2026, organised by the Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) in partnership with GSG Impact Sri Lanka, was supported by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) through World University Service of Canada (WUSC), which served as the Anchor Partner.
The Summit brought together more than 180 participants, including international and local investors, development partners, financial institutions, policymakers, entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders. Impact Capital Connect, the Summit's dedicated investor–enterprise engagement platform, brought together 15 international investors, 10 local investors and 25 impact enterprises in a structured setting focused on capital needs, investment readiness and pathways to scale.
The 2026 experience demonstrated the value of creating a structured platform for investor–enterprise engagement. The platform enabled enterprises to engage directly with investors, receive feedback on governance, financial discipline, impact measurement and investment structuring, and identify potential follow-up pathways. The post-event assessment specifically recognised the event as a pipeline-building platform rather than a deal-closing forum, with actual transactions requiring further due diligence.
